Publication: Experimental investigation of a sorption-based atmospheric water harvesting system using a LiCl/CaCl₂–silica gel composite

In this publication the CNR team and collaborators wrote about their experiments within the 4TunaTES project.

Here the highlights of the paper:

  • Experimental tests of a sorption system for atmospheric water harvesting.•
  • A binary salt obtained by impregnation of mesorporous silica gel with LiCl and CaCl2 was used.•
  • Thermodynamics and dynamics of the process under various conditions was investigated.•
  • Theoretical analysis under Messina weather data indicated a yearly water production of 0.20 to 0.35 L/kg of sorbent.
